Description

It was dark and fast, the fall. He had never been opposed to quickness, to a fast-paced lifestyle; in fact, back in Olympus he was consistently known for his strong gallop. But this was too fast, too blindingly swift. The wind coursing through his mane and tail was so heavy, that chunks of the fine silky hair were being whisped out- Is that what those thin wavering lines were? he wondered. Notus could not tell which way was up, or what exactly he was falling towards. All he knew was that the impact would hurt far less than the pain of being thrown out of his home. Tears, both from wind and frustration, slid from his eyes, falling updownsideways in to the abyss of darkness. They were blinding him, and through that blindness he was unable to see the feathers of his wings being torn off- it did not hurt, but a internal ache arose as he felt each feather melt away in to the black night sky.

He hoped that this was all a dream, that when he was just about to hit the ground of wherever he was falling towards, he would wake up, cozy and warm in his home in Olympus. But alas, it seemed that his hope would fly away, in the way he had been cast out of his home.

So this is my entry for Cavitto's Monthly Theme: Something in the Air

Went for a physical something- or someone- in the air instead of, say, love or something. I guess that's the great thing about having artist's interpretation of the theme

I really tried something new here; I actually used a grayscale! Don't think I've done one before, or at least nothing this significant. I can't say how proud I am of this piece- it didn't take that much longer than some of my other pieces, but the effort was greater. I really love how the shading came out

How everything did, really.

This is also the start of my story with Notus. Nothing HARPG related; entirely, it's going to be based on his struggle to get back to Heaven. I'm excited to start with the story, mainly to introduce the characters that will be joining Notus on his journey!

Also I'm pretending he had wings, because it makes it seem more angel like or whatever. I'll figure out if they were allowed/ if it was possible for them to have wings

If not I saved a version with out the feathers..
